These are professional organizations that I have found keystones to my career and professional development since I was a graduate student.

Information Science
The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T)The Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T)is the only professional association that bridges the gap between information science practice and research. For nearly 85 years, ASIS&T has been leading the search for new and better theories, techniques, and technologies to improve access to information.
Human Resource Development
Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD)  AHRD is a global organization made up of, governed by, and created for the Human Resource Development (HRD) scholarly community of academics and reflective practitioners. cross the globe.
The council promotes the International Conference on Knowledge Management (ICKM), which was started by Prof. Suliman Hawamdeh in Singapore in 2004. Both the council and the conference aim to bring academics and practitioners of various disciplines together. The council’s goal is to encourage worldwide scientific collaboration and address issues relevant to today’s industrial problems while delivering tangible benefits to society.ISPI and its members use evidence-based performance improvement research and practices to effect sustainable, measurable results and add value to private, public, and social sector stakeholders.

The Association for Career and Technical Research (ACTER) (ACTER)The Association for Career and Technical Research (ACTER) is a professional organization of scholars interested in research that focuses on the relationship between the workforce and education.  ACTER members strive to look for new trends in Career and Technical Education (CTE) in an effort to grow CTE at the local and national level. 
University Council for Workforce & Human Resource Education (UCWHRE)  UCWHRE is a nonprofit organization representing leading United States universities that offer graduate programs in workforce education and human resource development (HRD). The mission of the Council is to be a recognized force in shaping the future of Workforce Education and HRD through improving the policy and practices of education in the United States toward the betterment of individuals and the larger society. The universities represented by UCWHRE are considered world leaders in the area of workforce education and human resource education.
